Live Sounds CIC to wind up

The last 13 months have been interesting, enlightening, exciting and stressful all at the same time. We've climbed some hills and we've fallen down others. We've had fun and we hope the people we've worked with have too. Unfortunately, we've come to the end of the road. Live Sounds was set up as a CIC in order to serve community interest. Unfortunately, it has become apparent that the business model we were trying to work to has some flaws that cannot easily be overcome. As such, the board this week resolved to cease trading as of 31st March 2009 and to voluntarily wind the company up.

Big Fat Summer Bash Called Off

Unfortunately, very early in the planning stages for this year's Big Fat Summer Bash, we have had to come to the decision that we will not hold the event this year. Our application for funding was unfortunately not successful, and so we have taken stock of the situation and come to the conclusion that a year off to re-evaluate is in order. At this moment in time, we are not sure if the Bash will return next year, but if it does, we'll make sure you know about it!

Funding Decision

Live Sounds CIC submitted an application for funding for the Big Fat Summer Bash 09 to the Community Foundation for Merseyside's Employable Communities Fund last month and a decision will have been made today (Tuesday 16th December). We are waiting to find out the result of this decision, and will publish this when we are informed.

Bash a success, Live Sounds searching for next project

The Big Fat Summer Bash 2.0 has happened (28/8/08) and was a huge success. This year's event drew an audience of 421, a healthy growth on the original event. All five bands who performed (The Ghost Frequency, The Glides, SlitCell, Hello Geoff, Epydemyk) did an amazing job and there was a fantastic reaction from everyone attending. Everyone came away from the event having enjoyed themselves and many of the artists having learned from the experience. Pictures from the event are available on the website (www.BigFatSummerBash.co.uk) and next year's event is in the initial planning stage.

Press Release - The Bash is Back!

Merseyside bands hoping to become the next big thing are to show their talent next week at the Big Fat Summer Bash 2.0.

The event will give unsigned bands the chance to perform live at Liverpool’s Carling Academy, on 28th August, as they all bid to become the next big band to come out of Merseyside.
